This two-day, Dutch master class is about the optimal use of Function Analysis and Meaning Analysis (FABA) in the preparation of a treatment plan within the framework of Integrated Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (G)CGt. In addition to a discussion of the most recent developments in the use of FABA, the selection of specific interventions in relation to the prepared analyses will be considered.

Target

The master class is intended for academically trained cognitive behavioral therapists (i.o.) who wish to deepen and expand their existing knowledge of the use of FABA. Due to the compact and information dense nature of the course days, participants are expected to have a working knowledge of and experience with the use of (the basics of) FABA. The course is not suitable for a first introduction to FABA and less suitable for those wishing to retrieve knowledge that has subsided.

Objective

Upon completion of the course, the student/participant can/is aware of:

1. The state-of-the-art of using function analysis and meaning analysis (FABA)
2. The manner in which FABA is linked to the treatment plan
3. The manner in which FABA can guide the selection and (optimal) implementation of specific interventions

Content

The following topics are covered:

1. The conceptual framework of FABA
2. The "language" and "grammar" of FABA
3. Drafting FA and BA (main body)
4. The connection between FABA, treatment plan and interventions.

Nice addition to the master class: written feedback
When registering, you can indicate if you would like to receive individual written feedback from the instructors on a case conceptualization based on FABA and a treatment plan based on it. You will provide both according to a certain format. The cost for this feedback is €137.50 (on top of the course fee). If desired, you can make a face-to-face appointment (at cost) with (one of) the lecturers in addition to this.
