Introduction
This 2-day course focuses on proper autism diagnosis. When do you diagnose autism, when are impairments "sufficient" to make this diagnosis and when do they remain below the clinical threshold? Differential diagnosis is also discussed in detail. For example, how do you investigate whether autism is involved, whether the problems are more appropriate for personality problems and when do you diagnose both? Differentiation with ADHD and problematic attachment is also discussed. In addition, the role of test research and indication as part of diagnostics is discussed.
Target
The course is of particular interest to (basic) psychologists, BIG-registered psychologists, psychotherapists and psychiatrists who are themselves involved in the diagnostic process.
